Configure and review a KLINEO DCA bot

A KLINEO DCA bot defines an initial order, optional averaging orders and exit rules for a chosen market. Configure it through Market, Entry, Profit, Controls and Review. Check the full planned ladder and notional cap per pair, the number of active pairs, the mode and the exchange connection before starting. Lowering average entry does not prevent a loss.

Before you start

  • An active plan or eligible trial with an available running DCA bot slot.
  • The correct mode and a verified exchange connection when required by the selected execution path.
  • An understanding of the total capital you are willing to expose, including fees and any futures margin.

1. Select Market, venue and pairs

Live Binance, Bybit, TooBit and KuCoin connections can support spot or USDⓈ-M/USDT futures according to the selected product. KuCoin requires Classic production credentials and its API passphrase. Hyperliquid uses USDC-settled spot markets or perps with an approved API wallet. BloFin spot order placement is blocked; its live DCA integration is futures only. The form and connection tests remain the authority for a particular account.

  1. Open DCA Bots and create a bot. Give it a name that identifies the market and purpose of the test.
  2. In Market, select the exchange, spot or futures, direction and intended pair or basket. Check that your connection supports that exact market.
  3. For a first simulated exercise, confirm Virtual. Current Virtual DCA uses the Binance testnet execution path; it is not a test of every listed exchange.
  4. If starting from a preset, read its evidence and any fixed pair or venue restrictions. A changed pair, venue or setting needs its own replay.

2. Set Entry and the full averaging ladder

A maximum number of active averaging orders limits simultaneous orders, not the complete ladder cost. A multiplier can make later orders much larger. Keep a separate allowance for fees and market-specific constraints.

  1. Choose the base order type and size type. Quote-currency, base-asset and percentage sizing have different units; read the field label.
  2. For percentage sizing, enter the explicit quote balance estimate or bot budget needed for the exposure preview and replay.
  3. Set the averaging strategy, additional order size, maximum safety orders, active averaging orders, safety order multiplier and step multiplier as applicable.
  4. Read Planned ladder / pair and Notional cap / pair. Count all active pairs and trades; the first order is only one part of the possible commitment.
  5. Review any “Inputs were adjusted to pass execution limits” message. The submitted normalized values may differ from the values you first typed.

3. Set Profit and Controls

  • In Profit, confirm whether the percentage sets target-profit dollars from the total position volume or the base-order amount. The base-order basis is not a target price anchored to the first fill. Also review any take-profit ladder, close condition or minimum-profit control.
  • If using stop loss, inspect deviation, order type, timeout and action. The form calculates this control from the base order price; do not assume it follows the new average entry.
  • In Controls, inspect signals, maximum drawdown, active trade limits and any cooldown or risk settings you have selected.
  • Soft drawdown stop can cancel safety buys while keeping take profit active. “Flatten on stop” is a separate setting. Read both rather than assuming Stop always closes a trade.
  • For futures, examine leverage and liquidation risk separately from the planned order notional. An exchange can liquidate a position before a planned recovery.

4. Review, replay and start in the intended mode

  1. In Review, check venue, pair, direction, sizing units, planned ladder, cap, take profit, stop settings and active trade count together.
  2. Use the available backtest with explicit dates, market data, budget and costs. Read its data window and maximum orders filled; historical results do not prove live execution.
  3. Confirm the execution mode again. Submit only when the normalized settings match your intention and the connection and entitlement checks pass.
  4. Inspect the bot’s status and resulting orders. A created bot record or a positive backtest does not prove an exchange accepted every order.

Pause, stop or change a running bot

Use Pause to stop further activity according to the current bot state, then inspect its orders and exposure. Use Stop when you intend to end the bot lifecycle, but check the flatten setting and exchange state before assuming the position has closed. A cancellation can race with a fill; KLINEO may show “Pause scheduled” or “Stop scheduled” while take-profit protection is reconciled.

Running bots can be renamed, but changing the pair, budget, order logic, signals or take profit requires pausing and clearing active exposure. Review the complete adjusted configuration before resuming.

Resolve an error before retrying

  • No bot slot: inspect other running bots and the active plan. A connected exchange slot and a DCA slot are different limits.
  • Order below the venue minimum: review the adjusted amount and pair filter. Do not assume a tiny size accepted in one market works elsewhere.
  • Insufficient balance: include the full ladder, fees, active pairs and margin; inspect free funds in the correct exchange account.
  • Permission or futures test failure: repair the connection and market scope first.
  • Unknown order result: check both KLINEO Orders and the exchange before repeating an action.
